Kitschin Confidential is a project from Sophie Williams and Felicity Hayward – finding and remaking the best (and worst) recipes from vintage recipe books, and the kitschest cocktails from bar mat recipes.
The majority of the recipes we cook are from books we find in charity shops (though recommendations are always welcome) and range from 1890-1990.
We will never stop being amazed at the range of food people in the past wanted to put in aspic. It’s vile. But we’ll keep trying it, because we believe these kitsch gems deserves a second chance to shine, and who knows – maybe we’ll even find our next favourite food. Anything’s possible!
